Kids Garage Sale

Check out the Kids Garage Sale on Saturday, September 18 at Milford High School.  For $9, your child can rent 6' worth of space to sell old toys, old clothes, and other kids items.  Use this as an opportunity to teach your child about money!  Children 8 to 14 years old are eligible to sell.  Participants get access to the pool following the event.  A parent must accompany the student during the sale.

Beginning Kayaking

Discover the beauty of the Huron River by kayak. We will meet at Heavner Canoe Rental and start with a brief lesson on how to successfully enter, exit and paddle a kayak. Next we will adventure out into the beautiful and scenic Huron River and paddle into the Proud Lake Recreation Area weather permitting. We will return back to Heavner's for a pizza lunch. Kayak's are a one person craft for this adventure. We welcome families with children ages 10 and up. A state park permit is required and can be purchased at the gate or at Heavner’s for $6.00 daily or $24/ annually. If you have a question about the weather, please call 248-685-2379.   Deadline to register is Wednesday, September 9th.  REGISTER  BY SPECIAL EVENTS BELOW.  Meet at Heavner Canoe Rental for the event. 

Mom-2-Mom Sale at Lakeland High School

Parents on a budget need help to find affordable, fun, and quality products for their kids.  This calls for a Mom-2-Mom Sale at Lakeland High School on Saturday, October 2 from 8:30 am to 1 pm.  Setup will take place the night before from 4 pm until 8 pm.  For $20 a table, each person can sell slightly used clothes, toys, and miscellaneous items.  A wide range of items can be found, plus, even if you have a table it is a good time to go around and see what the other mom's have to offer!  Admission is $1.  Tables are 8' and are limited.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE MULTIPLE TABLES, contact 248-676-8390 because the way the online system works, you can only sign up for one.  The deadline to register is Wednesday, September 29. 

 
Here Come the Brides Bridal Show
 
Huron Valley Recreation and Community Education along with the Student Leadership team at Lakeland High School is proud to host the Here Come the Brides Bridal Show.  This event is brought to you by a company of the same name.  They bring 20 years of experience to the wedding industry.  This bridal show will feature different vendors from Huron Valley and the surrounding areas.  The show will also feature a runway show, prize giveaways, and a game called "Bride Wars," which is a unique way to meet all the vendors!  Tickets are available at the door for $8, and if you bring a canned food item, the tickets are $5!  No pre-registration for the brides to be as you can register at the door.  Canned goods are donated to Community Sharing.  Proceeds of this event go to benefit the Student Leadership students at Lakeland High, and HVRC&E.  If you are interested in becoming a vendor, contact 248-676-8389.  See you at the show!
 
Trick or Trucks
 
Its simple to just trick or treat, but how about trick or trucks?  Bring your child to the Trick or Trucks event at the Apollo Child Care Center on Tuesday, October 26 from 4:30 pm-7 pm.  Not only will they get the experience of trick or treating, but they will also get to see the area's biggest trucks.  Possible trucks will include a dump truck, fire engine, bulldozer, and much more!  A bounce house will be on hand provided by Oakland County Parks as well.  Plus, a meal will be provided for participants! 
The deadline to register is Friday, October 22!
Adults will have to pay $3 for the meal on site.
